Please take a moment to read my report on my trip to Gogrial County in Bahr el-Ghazal. It can be found here on the Latest page. After meeting with community representatives and members of communities in 5 out of the 7 payams in Gogrial county, it was decided to start by raising a small amount of money with which to support a community initiative in Ajiep, which is in Kuajok payam. The Payam Administrator, Aurelio Anyuc Deng has already made good progress in mobilising the people to build a small school and I have posted some pictures in the gallery pages. The funds will help to procur some materials locally as well as providing support to the workers who are involved in the brickmaking and building. Few people have much use for wages as such and prefer to be given food in exchange for their labour. Fergus will be going back to Sudan in November for about four months.
